Partner Program Terms

A plain-English description of how the Whisper-Line partner program works: what earns a commission, what does not, and what we ask of partners.

This page describes the program as it is built and run today. It has not been reviewed by our attorney and it is not a contract. A formal partner agreement will replace it. Until then, commissions are paid at the owner's discretion as described below.

1. What the program is

Whisper-Line gives approved partners a promo code. When a Whisper-Line user redeems your code on their account and then pays for Whisper-Line Pro, you earn a commission on those payments. You apply on the Partners page; the owner decides whether to approve you and which code you get.

2. The commission

  • 10% of what a referred user actually pays Whisper-Line, after any discount. The base is read from each paid invoice, never from a list price.
  • Up to 12 paid months per referred user. The count is in invoices actually paid, not in calendar months. If a user pauses and comes back later, their later payments still count until twelve have been paid.
  • Per paid invoice. Commission is recorded when a referred user's invoice is paid. Nothing is earned on a trial, on an unpaid invoice, or on a payment that fails.
  • Refunds and disputes are clawed back. If a referred payment is refunded, or the user disputes the charge with their bank, the commission on that payment is reversed. A reversal can make your balance negative; a negative balance is carried forward and set against future commissions.
  • Per currency. Balances are kept in the currency the user paid in. They are not converted.

3. Payout

Payouts are made monthly, by the owner, manually, and at the owner's discretion. Only a positive balance is paid; a zero or negative balance is not. The owner may hold a payout while a refund, dispute or suspected misuse is being checked. Payment method and any minimum payout amount are agreed with you when you are approved.

4. You need an account

A partner must have a Whisper-Line account, signed in at least once at whisper-line.com/account, under the email used on the application. Your code, your balance and your payouts are shown on that account page. A code is tied to one account and cannot be transferred.

5. No self-referral

You may not redeem your own code, and you may not redeem the code of another partner. An account that owns any partner code cannot redeem a partner code at all — the app refuses it. Commission on your own subscription, or on a subscription you pay for yourself under another account, is not earned and will be reversed if found.

6. How you may promote Whisper-Line

You agree to all of the following:

  • No misleading advertising. Describe Whisper-Line honestly. Do not claim features, prices, results or discounts that the product and the Pricing page do not state. Do not present Whisper-Line as a way to hide help in a real interview or evaluation; that is against our Terms of use.
  • No spam. No unsolicited bulk email, direct messages or comments; no posting the code where it is not welcome; no automated or paid-to-click traffic.
  • No bidding on our brand name. Do not buy search or social ads on "Whisper-Line", "WhisperLine", "whisper-line.com" or close misspellings, and do not use our name or logo in a way that suggests you are us.
  • Say that you earn a commission where the law or the platform you post on requires a disclosure (for example, FTC endorsement rules in the U.S.).
  • Do not offer anything we do not offer — no cashback, no rebates and no "free Pro" promises on top of the code.

7. The owner may end the program or revoke a code

The owner may change these terms, pause or end the program, or disable or revoke your code at any time, with or without notice, including for a breach of section 5 or 6. A disabled code stops accepting new users. Users already referred keep earning commission until their 12 paid invoices are reached, unless the program is ended. Commission properly earned, less any clawbacks, is still paid under section 3. Commission earned through a breach of these terms is forfeited.

8. Taxes

You are responsible for all taxes on what you earn under this program. Payouts are made without any tax withheld unless the law requires it. The owner may ask you for tax forms or other information (for example, a W-9 or W-8) before paying you, and may hold a payout until you provide them.

9. Relationship

You are an independent partner, not an employee, agent or representative of the owner. You cannot make promises on our behalf, and you have no right to use our name except to say, truthfully, that you are a Whisper-Line partner.
